The tin bracelet Kiruna a bracelet of contrasts just like the city of Kiruna. Kiruna where the new city meets the old city, where darkness in winter is replaced by light in summer, where space and mining research takes place with Esrange and LKAB as bases. The black leather symbolizes the strong mining industry that once upon a time was the prerequisite for the town to come into being and which now leads to the entire center being moved. The contrasting fields of pewter and black leather can also be seen as symbols of the ice cubes that build up the Jukkasjärvi Icehotel in winter and which then melt down and return to river water during the summer months.
Kiruna is also the city where hockey legend Börje Salming grew up. Börje often wore not just one but several pewter bracelets on his fit wrists, proudly displaying the old craft tradition. On the cover of the book "Grilla med Salming" he wears four different models on his right hand.
In connection with the EU summit in Kiruna 12-13 January 2023, the tin bracelet Kiruna was launched.
