General about reindeer skin
The reindeer skin is fantastic at conserving heat, insulating from the cold, there is nothing warmer to sit or lie on. Even if you sit outside in 40 degree cold, the reindeer skin warms.
The reindeer's hairs are hollow and thus a unique insulation is obtained. In addition, the hairs are very dense and are upwards, which gives an insulating layer. The Sami have always taken care of the reindeer's unique furs not only as a seat pad and lying pad but also for clothes, hats and shoes.
Reindeer skin is a natural material. When not in use, keep skin dark and cool. Make sure the skins dry properly before putting them away for storage.

The circle symbolizes the Arctic Circle and the Sami signs are different gods. The light in the middle symbolizes the sun which during the summer shines around the clock and during the winter shines with its absence.

Nicely tanned reindeer skin for use indoor, for decoration, on the wall, in the reading chair or sofa. The skin is soft and comfortable in high quality, despite that it is inevitable that it releases some hair. The colors vary. First sorting.
Cleaning: Use a standard vacuum cleaner, but choose the lowest power and work carefully from top to bottom. The cleaning should be done about once a year.
Note: Avoid walking or standing on the skin to avoid the risk of hair loss.

The designer Kerstin Landström has been inspired here by colors and patterns on woven bands within the Sami culture.
The blanket gets its name from the world heritage site Laponia in Lapland. The world heritage site is a Sami cultural landscape with several millennia of traces of settlements and reindeer husbandry. The area includes nine Sami villages.
