The pattern in the Norrbotten jewelery is said to have been created by the goldsmith Johan Olof Degerman, born in 1808. This type of pattern was common on jewelery from Norrbotten during the 18th and 19th centuries.
Perhaps it was the peasant painting in Tornedalen and its flower-rich meadows that inspired Degerman, who was active in Luleå and Haparanda until his death in 1882.

The wide Norrbottensringen is very beautiful. I recommend this ring to anyone interested in purchasing it. If you have shorter fingers, this ring may be a little too wide for your finger.
