Embraced by an angel

I met an angel at the church!
Yes, oh yes, he had wings,
a beautiful smiling face,
gentle words on their lips
and an open, warm embrace.
He bumped into me
when I counted the bruises of my soul
and anointed them with his balm.
My mind was filled with happiness and bliss.
He hastened his way,
for those who spread love
are few,
and those who waited were many.
