Albertus Pictor is famous in Sweden as a church painter active during the late Middle Ages. The pattern for the blanket Albertus is inspired by the leaf loops and borders that are common in many of the churches Albertus Pictor has painted.  Nederluleå Church in Gammmelstads church town is the northernmost church. The paintings were whitewashed in the 1700s but was restored back in 1909.
