Katarina says: “Art and crafts have always been a part of my life. In 1996 I started Katarina K. Konsthantverk and have worked full-time with clay ever since. I am driven by the attraction of clay and the inspiration I get from working at the potter’s wheel. I try to find a balance between form, function and aesthetic expression. Besides the fusion of beauty and utility, the focus of my work is to interpret the stark contrasts between the intensive light of summer and the long dark winter, severe cold and human warmth, and the intimacy of nature and the strong dialects typical of Lapland."
